I’m a Scrooge when it comes to the holidays, I admit it. I hate the added pressure of:
- having to buy gifts for people who really do not need any more material ‘things’
- attending work sponsored parties – I already spend enough time with these people – spare me, please!
- the crowded streets and stores filled with irate drivers and harried shoppers
Could we please declare a moratorium on Xmas? Doing the Santa thing for kidlets is fine; let parents continue with the trees and the decorations and the presents for kiddies, but how about the rest of us adults just take a break? Just stop. For one year. Imagine feeling relaxed and focused over the holidays instead of stressed and scattered. Doesn’t that sound great? Let’s make it happen.
Oh, and also – could you please lighten up? I know you’re in a hurry and no one is going fast enough for you, but jeez, please back off my bumper and stop the useless honking when someone makes a mistake (you know who you are). It doesn’t change anything, doesn’t help, and in fact, distracts everyone around you. So just slow down, chill out, and don’t stress – you’ll feel better later, and so will everyone around you, including your friends and family. Happy Holidays, dang it!!
